Books

Whether you are an old friend and familiar with the world of Arret, or you are new to my story, know that you are welcome here. I have a great deal to tell you, and many more volumes coming. This is only just the beginning.

The Pirates of the Whimsical Winds is the first trilogy in the Saga of Arret*. Discover a world on the edge of war, and a girl who doesn’t really know what that means until she’s in the thick of it.

*working title. I’m still not sold on the whole “saga” thing.

Each trilogy can be read alone. If you’re new to my books, I recommend you start here.

The Pirate Horde

What seventeen year-old doesn’t dream of acquiring a ship and sailing the high seas, seeking adventure, and dodging pirates at every turn? Me. That’s who. I was just an orphan girl from a tiny port town that isn’t even on most maps, but now I’m the captain of an untrained crew on a ship held together by little more than prayers and luck. Add in a past dogging my steps and the looming threat of an epic war… What am I doing out here again?

Guess it’s time for me to step up. I just wish I knew what I was stepping into.

The Pirate King

The isles always been a political wasteland. So why is there a new banner flying above the Reefs?

War is still threatening in the east. Let it. I’m keeping my focus right here in the Isles. Every day it seems like more and more people need our help. Slavers are bolder than ever, more and more Lugaian forces are being pulled from Denisi to fight on the continent, and the Consortium has been happy to pick up the slack. Rebellions have been cropping up all over and it doesn’t take a prophet to read the signs–big change is coming.

When the face of that change turns out to be someone from my past, I’m faced with a choices I never expected to make. Now, I need to decide what my part in all of this will be. He thinks we can remake the isles into something better. But... do the pirate isles really need a king?

Busted

aka that time we sort of ran aground and got arrested for our trouble.

I want to make it perfect clear that IT WAS AN ACCIDENT. Not that the authorities were so easily convinced, but it's true. Nothing we could have done. Completely out of our hands. And we only ended up in prison for one day, so all in all, it wasn’t so bad I guess.

Iron & Gears

aka that time Eric and Iain got caught up in the wrong feud and Anne found a letter.

Those locals were at war long before we got there. Maybe it was a “wrong place, wrong time” kind of situation, but we were just looking for spare parts for Eric and Iain to tinker with. Honestly. What were we supposed to do? I’m sure the people of Hook Island will vouch for us. Also, Anne found a letter.

Bet on Love

aka that time we all went to a fancy party and Isaboe made a new… uh, friend.

Okay, so here’s the thing, nobility in the isles is a joke. I’m not saying that justifies a bit of honest fleecing, but they don’t really have any power, so it’s fine, right? A little harmless gambling? As Isaboe has told me before, morality is a rich person’s virtue. And we are pirates.

The Legends of Johnny Peacock

The Tales From The Siren are all stand alone novellas and can be read in any order. They do not follow a strict timeline, but take place in the year between the first two books of the Pirates of the Whimsical Winds trilogy. You do not need to read the main series to enjoy the follies and hijinks herein, nor do you need to read these to enjoy the main series.

Personally, I think it’s better if you do. I mean, you should read all of my books, really. But that’s just my opinion.
